Planning Ahead For Your Financial Future!



Dear Friends,

Have you ever wonder why some people are affected by the current financial crisis while others are not? It seemed that people who are not affected have adequate financial education and knowledge in planning their financial destiny.

Why Achievers Understand The Law Of Service By Serving Their Fellowman?


“What is the moral obligation to serve the Fellowman? Well, the Fellowmen never did anything for me, and I never entered into a contract with them. Why should I start serving my fellow man”?

Achievers have learned and mastered the art of serving his fellowman long ago which under-achievers simply just do not know the prosperity brought by the act of serving.

Although achievers and under-achievers have some things in common and belong to the same affinity group, they are simply human beings. Achievers know the only way that they can get what they want is by serving their fellow man. By serving their fellow man, they take orders from them, which results in peace and prosperity.

Achievers understand that their serving is a form of creation governed by law. The principles that operate in the outer universe, discoverable by scientists, are called natural laws. But there are subtler laws that rule the hidden spiritual planes and the inner realm of consciousness. Contained within these laws is one of law called the “Law of Service”, which is the true nature of matter. Knowledge of this law has an effect upon their mental urges. Mind is their builder. Stay in full mindfulness of the application of Universal Law as related to them and to others, and in love all life is given, in love all things move.

In giving, achievers attain. In giving, achievers acquire. In giving, love becomes the fulfillment of desire, guided and directed in the ways that bring the more perfect knowledge of themselves as related to the universal, all powerful, all guiding, all divine influence in their lives.

The Law of Service is the governing law of their future. Service is usually interpreted as exceedingly desirable, and it is seldom realized how very difficult service essentially is. It involves so much their sacrifice of time and of interest and of their own ideas, it requires exceedingly hard work, because it necessitates deliberate effort, conscious wisdom and the ability to work without attachment. These qualities are not easy of attainment by the under-achievers, and yet today the tendency to serve is an attitude which is true of a vast majority of the people in the world. Such has been the success of the evolutionary process.

Service is frequently regarded as an endeavour to bring people around to the point of view of the achiever who serves, because what the achiever has found to be good and true and useful, must necessarily be good and true and useful for all. Service is viewed as something they render to the poor, the afflicted, the diseased and the unhappy, because they think they want to help them, little realizing that primarily this help is offered because they themselves are made uncomfortable by distressing conditions, and must therefore endeavour to ameliorate those conditions in order to be comfortable again themselves. The act of thus helping releases them from their misery, even if they fail to release or relieve the sufferers.

Service is frequently an indication of a busy and over-active temperament, or of a self-satisfied disposition, which leads its possessor to a strenuous effort to change situations, and make them what they feel they should be, thus forcing others to conform to that which they feels should be done.

Under-achievers, therefore, serve from a sense of obedience, and not from a spontaneous outgoing towards the needy. The essential quality for service is, therefore, lacking, and from the start they fail to do more than make certain gestures. Service is rendered from a deep seated desire for achievers’ spiritual perfection. It is regarded as on of the necessary qualifications for discipleship and, therefore, if under-achiever is to be a disciple, he must serve. This theory is correct, but the living substance of service is lacking. The ideal is right and true and meritorious, but the motive behind it all is entirely wrong.

Service should be rendered because it is becoming increasingly the fashion and the custom to be occupied with some form of service. The tide is on.

Achievers are actively serving in welfare movements, in philanthropic endeavours, in Red Cross work, in educational uplifts, and in the task of ameliorating distressing world conditions. It is fashionable to serve in some way. Service gives achievers a sense of power, service is their form of group activity, and frequently brings far more to them in a worthy sense than to being served.

If the under-achievers’ self is subordinated to the higher rhythms and obedient to the new “Law of Service”, then the life of the soul will begin to flow through them and to the others, and the effect in their immediate family and group will be demonstrated by real understanding and true helpfulness. As the flow of life becomes stronger through the use of this law, the effect will spread out from the small surrounding family group to the neighbourhood. A wider range of contacts becomes possible, until eventually if several lives have been thus spent under the influence of the “Law of Service”, the effect of the outpouring life may become nationwide and worldwide.

Why Achievers’ Self-Discipline Is So Persistent In Action?


“Single mindedness, determination, dedication, self-belief and the inability to ever give in are what distinguish people who do great things with their lives from those whose dreams die with them. When you have great perseverance you take into account what others say but you don't let it rule you. You remain true to your vision”.

That’s the difference between achievers and non-achievers! Achievers’ persistence is their ability to maintain action regardless of their feelings. They press on even when they feel like quitting. When they work on any big goal, their motivation will wax and wane like waves hitting the shore. Sometimes they will feel motivated; sometimes they won’t. But it’s not their motivation that will produce results — it’s their action. Persistence allows them to keep taking action even when they don’t feel motivated to do so, and therefore they keep accumulating results.

Persistence will ultimately provide its own motivation. Achievers just know that by simply keep taking action, they will eventually get results, and results can be very motivating. For example, they may become a lot more enthusiastic about dieting and exercising once they have lost those first 10 pounds and feel their clothes fitting more loosely.

Will power is the ability to control unnecessary and harmful impulses. It is the ability to overcome laziness and procrastination. It is the ability to arrive to a decision and follow it with perseverance until its successful accomplishment. It is the inner power that achievers overcome the desire to indulge in unnecessary and useless habits, and the inner strength that overcomes inner emotional and mental resistance for taking action. It is one of the corner-stones of their success, both spiritually and materialistically.

Self-discipline is the companion of will power. It endows the stamina to persevere in whatever the achievers do. It bestows the ability to withstand hardships and difficulties, whether physical, emotional or mental. It grants the ability to reject immediate satisfaction for something better.

Achievers or non-achievers are full of inner unconsciousness, or partly conscious, and sometimes rather impulsive. Under-achievers sometimes say or do things they later regret saying or doing. On many occasions they do not think before they talk or act. By developing these two powers, under-achievers become conscious of the inner subconscious impulses, and gain the ability to reject them when they are not for their own good.

Under-achievers tend to do what’s easiest and avoid hard work — and that’s precisely why they should do the opposite. The superficial opportunities of life will be attacked by hordes of under-achievers seeking what’s easy. The much tougher challenges will usually see a lot less competition and a lot more opportunities if under-achievers have more perseverance to overcome their challenges.

Achievers prepare and anticipate behind closed doors. Lay the groundwork for success carefully: Effective preparation and self-discipline are closely allied. They do their homework. Since most under-achievers are rarely well prepared, achievers will often succeed by default. When opportunity presents itself, they burst out of the starting gate, sprint to the finish line, and take home the prize.

Achievers’ self-discipline is an act of their cultivation. Self-discipline requires under-achievers to connect today's actions to tomorrow's results. There's a season for sowing, a season for reaping. Self-discipline helps them know which is which. Do what needs to be done. Quality living requires under-achievers to make difficult choices and sacrifices; it demands that they do the hard work first. They cannot arrive at true success without making the trip. Self-discipline is a habit. It is not situational, but it is applied situation by situation. However, they can be self-disciplined on occasion, but to get consistently positive results they require consistency.

It is the day-in day-out practice of self-discipline that determines where under-achievers end up. After all, a lifetime is an accumulation of moments, days, weeks, months, and years. What you do during each moment counts and influence the degree to which you judge your life to be a success. If you aspire to achieve your goals, you must be prepared to play every play as though the two-minute warning clock is running. Every move is significant. Every move counts!

Why The Achievers Understand The Law Of Substitution So Well?


As the process of change begins, the individual journey to success is unique with a set of schemas, personal issues, and perception of life. Perceived fairness, or unfairness, good and bad memories, guilt, adaptive or non-adaptive patterns do indeed all play into the factors that can either increase or decrease the chances for achieving, but looking at common behaviors that all fall into and from there is a guideline that can provide a basis for expectant behavior if under-achievers are to achieve or facilitate the achieving process in themselves. An observation from the research done shows what happened to under-achievers as well as achievers in their mind when engaging in thoughts.

Achievers and under-achievers experienced 50,000 to 60,000 thoughts in your mind just within minutes. Most of the thoughts are repetitive and that many of them are very negative. Achievers made a deliberate effort to be keenly aware of them when they are engaging in the self-destructive negative self talk. They have vigilantly mastered the art of turning off this negative internal dialogue and actively choose a different voice. They understand the “Law of Substitution” so well to fully utilize it to create and build a strong mental mind.

The law of substitution is actually a very simple law that states that your mind is able to keep only one thought in a time. The moment one thought comes to mind the other leaves.

There are two types of thought givers: subconscious and conscious. Subconscious mainly gives you the flow of thoughts to keep you safe and worm in our comfort zone. It says things like: “Don’t go there, it’s frightening.” “Don’t do that. You are going to be embarrassed” “Don’t start that project, you are going to fail.” Subconscious also mistakenly describes your appearance and abilities like “You are not strong enough, wise enough, educated enough, beautiful enough, worthy enough and good enough. You can’t, you can’t, you can’t.” the result of such thoughts, of course, anxiety, disappointment, frustration and lack of self-esteem.

Achievers have learned to deal with their subconscious. They know they have their conscious mind to help them. They have decided to choose the thoughts to think with it, and that if they think with the conscious mind – the subconscious mind stays quiet and listens. That means that every time they do not like the thought in their mind they can substitute it with another one their conscious decides to think.

Under-achievers have to understand how to use this law of substitution. Every time their low self-esteem tells them bad things about them or talk them out of the thing they desire, they consciously choose to think the antagonist thought. For example they are told they can’t do it; substitute this with the thought that they can. It is better to say: “I can do, I will do it and I’m just going to do it”.

Whenever they stop actively substituting this negative inner dialog with positive self-talk, it will quickly and silently creep back into their daily existence. If they “fall asleep,” or lose their way, they must take the opportunity to listen to their negative internal self-talk. It is then that they can feel that the thoughts in their mind affect their body with a negative emotional charge that does not bring them to their highest good. When their internal self-talk is they can’t; they must first become aware and then actively turn these negative thoughts into thoughts of they can.

Using the substitution of the negative thought about themselves, under-achievers can learn to take control over their self-destructing thinking; they can then increase their self-esteem. However, it is not so easy when they begin using this law of substitution, but like everything in life, when is done systematically becomes a habit. This law can also become their habit, if they want it to. So they must start using this unique mind ability and substitute their low self-esteem to the new high self-esteem they have chosen to achieve.

Just remember, high self-esteem equals good relationship, achievements in business, strong health and finances. The development of your self-esteem opens the door to your special wonderland you always dreamed of. By consciously substituting all negative thoughts with positive ones immediately upon experiencing the negative thought. You can only experience one thought at any given time, therefore by substituting a positive for a negative, only positive ones will reach the subconscious that will lead to positive outcomes for you!

Why Are Achievers Accomplishing So Much Personal Fulfillment?


Dr. Abraham Maslow coined the term “Self-Actualization” as the pinnacle in the hierarchy of human needs. Dr. Maslow summed up the concept as;

"A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be. This is the need we may call self-actualization ... It refers to man's desire for fulfillment, namely to the tendency for him to become actually in what he is potentially: to become everything that one is capable of becoming ..."

Have you ever wonder why achievers have been able to accomplish much more in life compared to the non-achievers? The real difference is achievers have the ability to self-actualize much more in life than the non-achievers. On a most basic level, achievers and non-achievers are required to satisfy their needs for food, water, and air. It is only when these basic needs are met that they can turn their thoughts to higher needs, such as love and acceptance.

As each of these needs is fulfilled, some of them reach a point of restlessness. It is at this point that they begin to seek higher goals of personal fulfillment. They attempt to grow beyond what they currently are and they strive to fulfill their highest potential. This is what Maslow termed self-actualization.



It is through self-actualization, achievers seek personal fulfillments in life. Achieving this state of fulfillment, however, involves more than having success in the workplace or the admiration of others. It is a goal that achievers want to achieve through different methods and with drastically different results to achieve a more holistic life.

The flaws with under-achievers are they are often obsessed about their goals and leave behind other matters which are vitally important. If they are dominated by a higher need, this higher need will seem to be the most important of all. It then becomes possible, and indeed does actually happen, that they may, for the sake of this higher need, put themselves into the position of being deprived in a more basic need. When their basic needs are being derived, they no longer can fulfill the next stages of self-actualization to their full potential to be the best they can ever be.

As for achievers, they have an internal natural drive to become the best possible they ever can be. They have within them a pressure toward unity of personality, toward spontaneous expressiveness, toward full individuality and identity, toward seeing the truth rather than being blind, toward being creative, toward being good, and a lot more. That is they believe that they are so constructed that they press toward good values, serenity, kindness, courage, honesty, love, unselfishness, and goodness.

Some profound and interesting characteristics from our research of achievers who have self-actualized have the following findings. Their interpersonal relations are profound and intimate. They are capable of greater love than others consider possible. They seemed to have the ability to demonstrate benevolence, affection and friendliness to everyone. When coming to learning, they are able to learn from anyone humbly regardless of class, education, political belief, race or color. They do not confuse between means and ends. They do not do wrong, enjoying the here and now, getting to goal--not just the result. They make the most tedious task an enjoyable game. They have their own inner moral standards appearing amoral to others. They love to joke and they use jokes as their teaching metaphors, intrinsic to the situation, spontaneous, and can laugh at themselves without cracking jokes that hurt others. They have inborn uniqueness that carries over into everything they do, see the real and true more easily, original, inventive and less inhibited. They are painfully aware of their own imperfections, joyfully aware of own growth process. They have philosophical acceptance of the nature of his self, human nature, social life, nature, physical reality, remains realistically human.

With this deeper understanding and knowledge of the profiling of achievers, under-achievers will then have this bigger capacity to motivate themselves to realize their goals. It will also oblige them to actively work toward self realization and respond to the call that a value makes on them. This whole discussion shows the importance of studying Values and Ethics in being an achiever. Under-achievers have to discover their range of possible moral behavior and success characteristics to model after and improve upon if they are working after their goals toward personal fulfillment.

Why Achievers Keep Talking To Themselves In Their Mind When They Are Faced With Defeats?


Take notice and pay attention to the things you say to yourself every day! Many times you may catch yourself saying (not out loud but only in your head of course) something about yourself or your life that you would never, never in a million years say to another person. I’m talking about the limiting, self-deprecating, disparaging thoughts and silent comments that under-achievers have, the thoughts of doubt about their abilities and themselves, the feelings of disgust when they look in the mirror facing their doubting poor self-image.

Under-achievers failed to monitor their conversations and their thoughts they have about themselves. When they are faced with a challenge, a fearful situation, it is not common for them to react by talking to themselves and "commanding" themselves to overcome this fear and succeed on the challenges. This is in fact, a proven effective method used by achievers for overcoming fear. One theory of addressing the fear is to enhance the individual's concept of success. Achievers are able to imagine and believe that they can be successful at a certain event, encounter or situation; they command and use their fear to channel productive outcomes in what they are fearful to do.

According to research, there is one theory by a psychologist from Stanford University that overcoming fearful behavior can be addressed by self efficacy: the achiever's belief that he can overcome his fear. In effect, he addresses fear by "talking" to himself and believing that he can overcome it.

Changing the self-talk from negative to positive can in itself bring about a change in the mind-set. For one thing that achievers do is the very process of putting into words what they want rather than what they hope to avoid, changes their way of thinking. They think of the words that will bring about the associated mental pictures, and if the words are linked to something emotive, associated physical sensations too. So they start to see and feel what they want to achieve. This, hopefully, will have more pleasant associations and induce a more positive response – such as relaxation, confidence, or excitement – rather than the unpleasant response associated with the situation they want to avoid. So for example by replacing:

“I mustn’t get angry!” with

“I’ll stay calm”

They are also replacing the image and sensations of clenching fists, reddening face, losing control and feeling tense with those of staying relaxed, talking calmly, and discussing rationally. Using positive language forces them to formulate what they want, and to begin to manifest it by putting it into words.

Achievers’ self-talk—the words that they use to describe what is happening to them and to discuss how they feel about external events—determine the quality and tone of their emotional life. When they see things positively and constructively, and look for the good in each situation and each person, they have a tendency to remain positive and optimistic. Since the quality of their life is determined by how they feel from moment to moment, one of their most important goals should be to keep themselves thinking about what they want and to keep their mind off what they don’t want or what they fear.

When the mind is filled with positive self-talk energy, the soul will be uplifted with feelings of encouragement, self-motivation and a "can-do" attitude. Once the thinking is uncluttered, it will bring to completion things left dangling from the past and train the self-talk to focus only on being the achievers, and the road to success will be a much shorter journey.

If under-achievers pay attention to what is going in their mind, they will discover that the mind is in a constant state of thinking. There is a constant self-talk activity going on. They can actually use this self-talk to their advantage, when they know how. They can fill their mind with positive thoughts, and direct it toward achievement and success. They can do so by repeating positive words and statements, instead of occupying the mind with useless or negative thinking.

The starting point in the process of becoming a highly effective person like an achiever is to monitor and control the self-talk. The conscious mind can hold only one thought at a time, either positive or negative. If under-achievers deliberately choose a positive thought to dwell on, they keep their mind optimistic and their emotions positive.

The real power of self-talk lies in how it changes behavior. Simply correcting the internal programming will improve the mood, but it won’t do the most important job. The ultimate purpose of examining what is going on inside the head is to change actions that are self-defeating. Thinking correctly does alter the negative moods, but enduring change comes only with modifying the behavior.

To activate the full power of your self-talk, you must follow the path that your new, accurate inner messages point. Underachievers would need to actually terminate their current relationship and, with the aid of further encouraging and supportive self-talk, get back into social situations where they can meet new people and begin forming new relationships.

Why Achievers Apply The Law Of Concentration For Success In life?


Law of Concentration involves a honing in on all the attention so that one's entire field of attention is thrown into whatever it is that one is doing. Concentration entails a focusing of energy-the energy that influences all our actions in life.

From our research, we realize that achievers have been men of great concentration. Their success is not accidental but is related to their thoughts in their brain. When a brilliant thought or idea strikes their mind, they ensure that their thought or idea is being nurtured and reared with patience, will, focus, and determined action. With this intense concentration of energy will the tiny seed of an idea truly flower into a vibrant plant. The entire basis of the flowering is the mind and its powers. Had there been no thought in the mind and appropriate action thereafter, the result would not have been achieved. Applying this law is like focusing the rays of the sun through a magnifying glass; achievers focus and re-direct the concentrated rays of the power behind their divine thoughts.

Control of the mind is the achievers’ precursor to success in attempts at concentration. Yet if their mind is preoccupied solely with the idea of having to control the mind like under-achievers, they will be so busy trying to control their mind that the object or concept of concentration will take centre-stage in Amnesia land!

Achievers understand that it is the sensual distractions to which the mind is drawn that are the culprits of under-achievers inability to concentrate. So they must work at being able to successfully and scientifically isolating their attention from them. Calming the senses, withdrawing their life force away from the sensory-motor nerves which are the conductors of sensations, and channeling them into the higher centres of their consciousness is therefore the key. They must make it a habit to introspect and watch their mind carefully. Rising thoughts must be silenced and emotions have to be calmed.

Success in achievers’ life presupposes the power of concentration. Their focused thoughts create a dynamic but silent power within that will find them placed in situations akin to the nature of their thoughts. If they think ' good health ' and with faith and belief embedded deeply within their minds over a sustained period of time, they will gradually create for themselves situations and an environment, which will be conducive to good health. Yet as they understand the workings of this power of this law, it is essential that they not misuse the power and that they be more involved in purifying their desires so that all that they seek will only be bathed in the hue of wisdom and righteousness.

As under-achievers attempt to practice controlling their mind, never fight with it. An obstinate struggle only sets into motion more waves of despair and frustration. They should beware of committing this serious error in their eagerness to succeed. Correctly practiced, engagements in concentration will quickly lead to a calming of the functions of the heart and thereby, the energy that was formerly used by the heart will now be available for use to achieve any other noble ambition. Why Achievers Have Super Conscience Creativity?


How much creative potential do achievers have? Numerous research investigations have highlighted the importance of certain personality attributes of achievers for creative functioning. These attributes include, but are not limited to, self-confidence and a willingness to overcome obstacles, to take sensible risks, and to tolerate ambiguity. Achievers deliberately make super conscience efforts to pursue ideas that are unknown or controversial often means defying the crowd.

Because of their intrinsic, task-focused motivation they have the capability to come out with creative works. Achievers rarely do truly creative work in an area unless they really love what they are doing. This love and passion allow them to focus on the work rather than on the potential rewards. Interestingly, carrying out their creative activities also simultaneously helps to generate their intrinsic motivation.

For their creative works to evolve, achievers need an environment that is supportive and rewarding of their creative ideas. They could have all of the internal resources needed to think creatively, but without some kind of environmental support such as a forum for proposing those ideas and constructive feedback, their creativity might never be displayed.

All creativity actually begins with a seed of an idea. The problems with under-achievers are they don't feel like they ever have any ideas. When the truth is they have plenty, they just don't capture them, and then forget they ever had them in the first place.

Achievers make a conscience effort to keep an Ideas Journal with them - a notebook to jot down creative ideas as they come to them - and get into the habit of using it. The more ideas they capture, the more ideas will follow. It's like one big ideas party in their journal!

Achievers believe they are highly creative. However, under-achievers can’t be creative because don't think they are creative. Their beliefs are the ceiling for their creativity, and if their ceilings are low, you're short changing them in what you're capable of. Underachievers have to start by looking at their current beliefs around creating and how creative they are. Do they think: "I am highly creative and my ideas flow like a raging river"? Or do they believe: "I will always struggle to create; I've barely any natural talent"? Identify all their beliefs, highlight the positive ones, and turn the negative ones around. They have to begin to think of themselves as a creative person and of creativeness as a set of skills that they can practice and get better at using. Next, they have to make conscience efforts to surround themselves with people who love and support them, particularly those who can give them honest and constructive feedback. They also have to try to expose themselves to a diversity of environments, cultures, ideas, and symbols.

By learning to experiment with creative thinking techniques, such as mind-mapping, brainstorming, lateral thinking, simulation exercises, etc., they test out their thoughts and ideas in a variety of media. They also need to take time to relax and rest their mind to properly reflect on and digest different ideas.

Achievers try to probe deeper on things that, on the surface, seem obvious. They are not afraid to ask questions. Some of the most penetrating questions are so-called ‘dumb’ questions. The only dumb questions are the ones that are not asked. They will make time meditating on their own strengths and weaknesses, and understanding and overcoming their personal blocks to creativity. These obstacles could be a big ego, fear of embarrassment, negative thinking, entrenched routines, and self-criticism.

It is important to remember that creativity requires great patience and humility; a willingness to work hard for creative outcomes; and, deep concentration on the power of intrinsic creative forces. Why Achievers Understand ‘TOO SOON OLD! TOO LATE SMART!’ Concept So Well?


Too soon we get old, and too late we get smart is the old Yiddish proverb! Generally, under-achievers get smart too late in their lives. By the time, when they are smart, they are also too old to be able to reap many benefits from life after being smart. Achievers seemed to understand this concept “Too Soon Old! Too Late Smart!” so well that they want to be smart first before they are too old to achieve anything or whatever goals they set in life.

Achievers understand that by making slow and steady contributions just to win the day they don’t have to rush later in life. They can then enjoy their fruits of labors while they are still young. They start their day early; investing everything they can afford to, and they know that the resources they invested in are working for them in the long term to bear fruits of successes for them.

Under-achievers fail to understand themselves well enough in their relations with their environments and interactions to be able to make very decisive choices to be smart. Their stubborn characteristic and fear of failing prevent them from being smart to learn from the processes. Instead of moving on and learning something from that encounter, they devoted their time and resources in doing things that they could never excel in and they will complain about life and grow old in the process.

Times flies! Achievers want to learn so fast and they want to become smart fast before they are too old, enjoying all their fruits of labors. They will make informed decisions and they are rational in abandoning activities that are not productive, not leveraging enough or they can never be good at from their in-depth understanding of themselves even if they have the perseverance to continue doing them. They understand themselves so well that they want to make very decisive judgments to succeed before they are too old.

More often, underachievers describe themselves as living a boring or conflicted coexistence that makes economic sense but lacking in excitement or emotional satisfaction. Much of their difficulty in developing & sustaining personal relationships resides in their failure to recognise, in themselves as well as in others, those personality characteristics that make them a poor candidate for a committed relationship.

Under-achievers often ask for medication. They are tired of their sad mood, fatigue, & loss of interest in things that previously gave them pleasure. They are having trouble sleeping or they sleep all the time; their appetites are absent or excessive. They are irritable & their memories are shot. Often they wish they were dead. They have trouble remembering what it is to be happy.

From my research into the behaviors of under-achievers, there are certain recurring themes in their stories: Others in their families have lived similarly discouraged lives. The relationships in which they now find themselves are either full of conflict or “low temperature,” with little passion or intimacy. Their days are routine: unsatisfying jobs, few friends, lots of boredom. They feel cut off from the pleasures enjoyed by others. They tend to devote great amounts of time & energy to efforts to assert control over what happens to them in their uncertain progress through life. They are taught to pursue an elusive form of security, primarily through the acquisition of material goods & the means to obtain them. There is a kind of track that they are put on early in life with the implicit suggestion that, if they ‘succeed,’ they will be happy.

Achievers will look at the way they are living with an eye to change. They will not be always talking about what they want, what they intent. Those are dreams and wishes, and are of little value in changing their mood. They are not what they think, or what they say, or how they feel. They are what they do. They educate themselves that not being in control is a popular illusion closely related to the pursuit of perfection. They have come to understand that such a world is impossible, sometimes they would even go to great lengths to achieve whatever control they can over those around them through the exercise of power or manipulation. Instead, they would learn to be smart and go on to do what they can achieve every single minutes of their time and achieve a lot more out of life as compared to most under-achievers.

Why Achievers Set Goals That Are In Harmony With Each Other And In Line With Their Values?


Achievers and under-achievers set goals. Yet, most goals set by under-achievers remain unfulfilled. Goal setting is the most important tool achievers have learned to use to leverage their success. Achievers are very focused in their lives and they use goal setting to create their destiny. Focus is the one key quality that is consistently found in people who are high achievers. Yet through the years, in study after study, it is found that only 4 percent of the population ever set goals by writing them down. What is even more astonishing is that the 4 percent of people who write their goals down achieve them almost 100 percent of the time. If goals setting are so powerful, and successful, then why do so many under-achievers not actively engage in creating their own destiny?

Achievers know where they want to go and they have a sense of purpose or meaning in life filled with dreams and visions which they would like to achieve. Their goals are dreams with deadlines which propel them on their journey of self-discovery and self-achievement.

Under-achievers don’t have goals. They have wishes, desires, hopes, and dreams. Dreams come to them as they go about their daily life. Wishes dart in and out of their daily consciousness. They think of new interests they will like to pursue, changes they like to make, and great things they hope to achieve someday. They are pretty sure they have the ability and fully intend to do all those things sometime in the future.

It seemed that goal setting is the single most important life skill that unfortunately over 96% of under-achievers never learn how to do properly. Goal setting affects every single area of your life, whether it is financial, physical, personal development, relationships, or even spiritual in nature. Not surprisingly, it’s those top 4% that earn most of the money, or who are the best athletes in the world, or achieve optimal health and happiness in their lives, while the greater majority of people spend their days griping, complaining and blaming about those top achievers.
What the achievers have learned to do when setting their goals which the underachievers do not know is to set realistic goals that are in harmony to each other and in line with their values. Goals set by achievers are clear & concise. They will make sure they are written down and have deadlines. Under-achievers write goals that are not clear & concise without an expected date of attainment. The main difference here is achievers set goals and under-achievers set a wish. Wishes are okay if waiting for someone else or something else to grant the under-achievers. You see, achievers make sure that they breathe life into their goals so they can have the strength to prod them along the path of success. The key to the achievers’ goals is it must be in harmony with their life's priorities. If they aren't, they will either experience disenchantment if they attain them, or more likely, they experience a frustrating series of sub-conscious self-sabotage that under-achievers always experienced.

Achievers never set conflicting goals in life or they will be conflicted. Their goals are always in harmony with their core beliefs and self-assigned purpose in life which they understand that to have conflicting goals will raise their stress levels and frustrate them. Yet, under-achievers do that to themselves all the time. It is not so easy to understand that under-achievers may have some deep-set unconscious game plan for their life (whether from some basic spiritual urge or from some sense of undefined purpose) and the goals they set may actually be in conflict with that really desired.

Why An Achiever’s Self-Concept Is Based On His Beliefs?


There is a great deal of research which shows that the self-concept of an achiever is, perhaps, the basis for all his motivated behavior. It is his self-concept that gives rise to his possible selves, and it is his possible selves that create the motivation for his behavior. Achievers have great self-esteem that clearly differentiated their self-concept. Achievers know themselves and they maximize outcomes because they know what they can and cannot do.

Achievers generally develop and maintain their self-concept through the process of taking action and then reflecting on what they have done and what others tell them about what they have done. They reflect on what they have done and can do in comparison to their expectations and the expectations of others and to the characteristics and accomplishments of others.

Self-concept is not innate, but is developed or constructed by an achiever through interaction with his environment and reflecting on that interaction. This dynamic aspect of self-concept is important because it indicates that it can be modified or changed. There is a growing body of research which indicates that it is possible to change the self-concept. Self-change is not something that people can will but rather it depends on the process of self-reflection. Through self-reflection, he often comes to view himself in a new, more powerful way, and it is through this new, more powerful way of viewing the self that he develops possible selves. The stronger and positive the beliefs, the more unique and greater self-concept will be evolved through this interactions around the self.

There are several different components of an achiever’s self-concept: physical, academic, social, and transpersonal. The physical aspect of his self-concept relates to that which is concrete: what he looks like, his sex, height, weight, etc.; what kind of clothes he wears; what kind of car he drive; what kind of home he live in; and so forth. His academic self-concept relates to how well he does in school or how well he learns. There are two levels: a general academic self-concept of how good he is overall and a set of specific content-related self-concepts that describe how good he is in math, science, language arts, social science, etc. The social self-concept describes how he relates to other people and the transpersonal self-concept describes how he relates to the supernatural or unknowns.

An achiever understands that his self-concept is his individual's conceptualization about how he thinks about himself. It is a subjective sense of his self and his complex mixture of unconscious and conscious thoughts, attitudes, and perceptions. His self-concept provides him a frame of reference that affects his management of all situations and relationships with others. His self-concept, or how he thinks about himself, directly affects his self-esteem which gives rise to his evolving confidence that an under-achiever is always lacking.

An under-achiever’s negative self-concept gives a sense of meaningless, emptiness, and inconsistency to him. An unhealthy self-concept has a high degree of instability and generates negative feelings toward him. When his poor beliefs reinforce his self-concept, his self-esteem is lowered as a result. In a way, his self concept is dependent upon how he thinks about himself in relation to the world, and the qualities that he ascribes to himself. How he thinks he has performed depends on his beliefs he received from the environments or interactions!

Fortunately, you can get rid of those self-limiting beliefs. However, you have to identify them first. They could be lurking in the recesses of your minds without your awareness. Talking with a friend or consulting with a coach could give you more objective feedback as to their existence.

Once you have identified them, these limiting beliefs must be challenged every time they rear your heads. You must consciously reject any thoughts or suggestions that you are limited in any way. There is nothing you cannot do. You simply need to find your way and follow it to conclusion.

When the self-limiting thoughts are starved of attention, they wither and die. Whatever you give attention to magnify: whatever you do not attend to shrivel up and die. You cannot take the mild approach to the weeds in your mental garden. You have got to hate weeds enough to kill them. Weeds are not something you handle; weeds are something you devastate.

No one is better than you are. If others do better, it is simply because they have had more practice, more experience, and/or they know something that you don’t. And all this can be remedied. It’s what you build upon your initial investment that makes the difference.

Hence, dynamic inter-relationship between your thoughts, beliefs, and personal core values, all feed into your self-concept and self-esteem development, and in turn, your self-empowerment. Your empowering beliefs such as 'I am capable of achieving anything I desire to; support your hopes and dreams. If you hold negative beliefs such as 'I am not worthy to do what I dream of', you are actually undermining your potential. Beliefs are at work even when you are not consciously thinking of them. Achievers address any negative self talk and beliefs, whether at the conscious level or the subconscious to be the best they always will be!

Why Achievers Maintain High Level Of Health And Physical Energy?


Have you ever wonder why achievers have so much energy overcoming great challenges and yet achieve what they set out to do? After researching and reading into people of great successes, I realize that all these achievers have created for themselves a health plan to enable them to have far more physical energy and also to maintain a high level of health that allow them to strive for the greatest success they always desire.

Achievers know that the better they take care of themselves, the more calm, positive, and creative they will be. This is why often their best thinking, their best ideas and their best decisions come after a holiday, vacation or period of rest. They increase the quality of their lives by eating right and getting the right amount of rest. They also find that by taking more time off they create more opportunities for high quality thinking time which will have a positive effect on their lives, career and income. They enjoy high levels of health and vitality and they also understand that their current levels of energy and physical well-being are perhaps the best indicator as to how well they are currently doing in your life.

The best investment an achiever can ever make is his body. It pays for itself over and over again, every minute, every hour and every day. As he develops the habit of good health, nutrition, exercise and overall proper care for his body, it affects every other area of his life in a healthy and positive way as well. The quantity and quality of his energy flow deeply affect his emotions, thoughts and reactions. The quality of his relationships, productivity, creativity and health all depend upon creating a high level of harmoniously flowing energy.

Simple techniques and methods that have been researched and proven to maintaining high levels of vitality and physical health that have been incorporated in an achiever’s lifestyles should be;

1.Maintain a proper diet. Eating a proper diet requires that you eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grain cereals, and more lean sources of protein. Eat more fish, chicken, prime cuts of meats, egg whites, low fat yogurts, and soy products. When you eliminate most fats from your diet and replace them with high-quality vegetables and lean-sourced protein you'll increase your levels of energy, clear your mind, and lose weight.

2.Maintain proper hydration. Water is one of the greatest aids to good health that you can possibly consume. Studies show that you should drink eight glasses of water daily and more if you're doing physical labor or exercising. In fact, medical studies have shown that as much as 70 percent of all health problems can be eliminated or reduced by increasing your water consumption. This is mainly because of the tremendous amount of toxins and impurities that you flush from your body when you drink water.

3.Maintain the proper weight. This simply means that you should eat less and exercise more. The way you think plays a dominant role in your eating and exercise habits. For example, under-achievers who are overweight often think about the pleasure of eating and give little or no thought to how they will look and feel afterwards. Whereas achievers who are never overweight are usually very thoughtful about how they will look and feel after eating. They don't like the feeling of being full or looking fat, so they eat less and stop eating sooner.

4.Get the right amount of exercise. Studies show that on average you need to get 200 minutes of exercise weekly or about 25 minutes per day to maintain a high level of fitness. You can get daily exercise from a variety of activities such as, walking, swimming, cycling, golf, tennis and exercise equipment. Perhaps the best exercise you can get is doing aerobics for 20 to 30 minutes, 3 to 5 times per week. One important note on exercise: Before you start an exercise routine you should get a complete medical check-up.

5.Get the right amount of daily vitamins and minerals. It's almost impossible to get the right amount daily vitamins and minerals that you need from diet alone. This is why you should at the very least take a multi-vitamin each day. Opinions vary widely on which vitamin, mineral and herbal supplements are good and how much of each you should take. You should consult your doctor or a nutritionist before you start taking other supplements in addition to a multi-vitamin.

6.Get the right amount of rest and relaxation. You need 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night to be fully rested. It's important that you give your body, mind and emotions time to recuperate from the day. You can take a short 20 minutes nap during the day. Have at least one day set aside during the week just for your family and recreation where you don't think about your work at all. Here's an important rule to remember: The time when you most need time off is when you don't have time to take time off.

7.Breathing techniques are essential for the abundant flow of vital energy throughout the body and mind. Bio-energy is the basis of all physical and mental functions. Breathing exercises are one of the most effective ways to increase our energy level and keep it steady and harmonious so we will be less susceptible to low emotional states or illness. We should, however, have the guidance of person experienced in breathing techniques before we begin.

8.Creative self-expression is much more important to our physical, emotional and spiritual health and harmony than most people imagine. Man is a creative being. Our purpose on earth is to create in some way. We might create a family, a business, a farm, a painting, a piece of music, a dance, etc. Creative self-expression is essential for our health, harmony and happiness.

9.Discover your spiritual orientation. Each of us has his own personal relationship with the universe. Whether or not we adhere to any particular religion, it is important for our inner balance that we feel and cultivate our relationship with the whole as humanity, as nature, or as God.

10.Increase your self-knowledge of your body. We need to comprehend our own inner mechanisms, needs, desires, fears, expectations, beliefs and subconscious workings in order to free ourselves from the negative emotions, mechanisms or which undermine our health, happiness and relationships.

Achievers think of their body as a machine that is designed to last 100 to 120 years with the proper care and maintenance. They take good care of it and feed their body the proper foods and nutrients. Drink lots of water. Exercise regularly. Rest and recuperate, and give their body a chance to recharge on a regular basis.

The phrase that "you become what you think about" is never truer than when it comes to eating and exercise. The way achievers think about food and exercise determines how much they eat and how much they exercise they get. Why Achievers Create New Successful Habits Pattern?


It takes time for achievers to learn to be successful too! Achievers are always in the process of reinventing themselves and learning new ways of being. They bother to take the time to learn what it takes to be a successful achiever.

One of the main things that an achiever learns to do in his life -- and it is not taught in the home or in the schools -- is self-analysis. He learns to analyze himself to be in touch with his personality by understanding his habit patterns. Underachievers find it very difficult to be consciously aware of every action they perform and realize that their actions are virtually their thoughts. Without thought there can be no action! Habit patterns and thoughts are revealed through the behavior!

An achiever has numerous habits; he understands his personality by understanding his habit patterns. A habit pattern is a conscious thought or action that he repeats again and again. This creates a groove in his unconscious mind and forms an unconscious habit. Unconscious habits are stronger than conscious habits. All habit patterns are self-created by the achiever himself. When he sits down and tries to understand which of his habits control his life, he sees that there are many deep-rooted habits within him. He studies them. Once he becomes aware of his harmful thoughts and emotions that have created deep grooves in the mind, he will begin to change them by creating new grooves. Then his mind will stop flowing to the old grooves and start flowing to the new ones. In this way an achiever changes his habits.

Deep-seated poor habits keep under-achievers from doing what would be good for them to do. He becomes helpless because of the obsessions and addictions that are caused by his poor habits. He may continues in a habit that he knows is not good -- that is neither healthy nor helpful and that should not be done -- because the habit has become so deep-rooted that he is powerless to change his behavior. Society does not help him change his bad habits, and there are very few places where he can get help. Under-achiever who is in the penitentiary knows that what he has done is a crime, but the force of habit led him to act improperly. He understands what is right and what is not right -- but his deep-seated habits have motivated him to do something that is not good, that is not acceptable.

Success comes from behaviors, which start out as thoughts. To change the habits or behaviors, an under-achiever will need to have different thoughts. What occupies the mind – the thoughts – propels achievers to behave in a certain way. If the achiever doesn’t like the results of his behavior, all he needs to do is to change his thoughts. Renewing or shifting from the current thoughts to those that are desired brings about transformation or change in the lives. This is what is known as having a paradigm shift – adopting a new way of thinking, of doing things, of behavior.

The good thing about habits is that they are acquired over time through learning, nuances, brainwashing and experiences. Since they are acquired, they can be replaced by changing the thought patterns that fostered them in the first place. To replace negative, self-limiting thought patterns, which is called “mental patterns of failure”; under-achiever must set as a first goal to reduce the impact of these patterns, and this cannot be done overnight. Just as it took time to acquire these mental patterns of failure, it will take time to release them and replace them with ‘mental patterns of success’. Achievers are those who rid themselves of their patterns of failure by brushing off distractions. When there are no pattern of failure limiting their progress, under-achievers are able to overcome temporary setbacks at the thought level. Since the battle for success is won or lost at the thought level, the success or failure in this arena is what makes you an achiever or under-achiever. Success comes naturally when the mastery of learning to control the thought patterns takes place. Mustering the art of thought control, no longer will under-achiever will be ‘tempted to act opposite to what he know is best. He can keep fear at a minimum and doubt is nowhere to be found.’

As I conclude, I believe that over 80 per cent of the setbacks that we face in life have their origin in how we think or react to life’s issues. How we think informs how we behave, and consequently the kind of actions we take – and the success we attain in life is largely dependent on the actions we take.

Most of the limitations that we encounter in life are self-imposed – and therefore can be overcome. As I have mentioned above, the battle is either won or lost at the thought level. If you feed your mind with thoughts that influence positive behavior, you will take positive actions and therefore achieve positive results. On the other hand, if you feed your mind with negative thoughts, you will behave negatively and take negative actions – resulting in failure.

My call to you today is to embark on an unlearning or relearning process. You need to unlearn all the negative habits that take your efforts away from success. On the other hand, if you have managed to inculcate positive habits in your life, you need to keep relearning these habits to ensure that doubt or failure will never have a foothold in your life. If you keep doing this constantly and consistently, you will, without doubt, attain gratifying success like most achievers.

Why Achievers Set “Peace of Mind” As Their Highest Goal?


Achievers seemed to be able to maintain a state called “Peace of Mind” when they are striving for their goals. When their mind is in a state of “Peace”, an achiever has more mental resources and energy to think best and excel in making the best decision than the under-achievers in the journey of pursuing success if he encounters challenges.

One of the highest and most important goals an achiever set is the goal of having “Peace of Mind”. By setting this goal and working towards achieving it, achievers hold themselves to the standard of inner peace, and they will find that every decision they make will turn out to be the best decision. They have more energy, enthusiasm, and become more creative. They become a kinder, gentler, and a more loving person. When they set “Peace of Mind” as their standard, they will tap into a source of wisdom that will guide them without fail toward doing and saying the right things in every circumstance.

Most under-achievers have peace of mind only when they are asleep. Perhaps this is possible only when they are physically tired or exhausted, and the urge to sleep is stronger than the need to have peace of mind. The trouble lies in the under-achievers’ mind. Their mind is made up of fear, self-pity, insecurity, and failures, to name a few. All of these are products of negative thinking that pollutes the mind unnecessarily.

Achievers face troubles with courage by casting out the negative feelings of fear and insecurity. Empty their mind of all these negative habits and they don’t leave their mind empty for long to prevent it from leaning back to the negative side. They will cast out all the negative thoughts by emptying them from their mind, and refill with positive and inspiring thoughts.

A troubled mind is like a storm in your mind. Once the problem is gone, you will have peace of mind. Try to build a strong foundation of positive attitudes so that when another storm hits your mind, you’re prepared to face it. This is similar to practicing positive attitudes.

There are many ways to generate a peaceful mind. Think of words that suggest a calm mind - words like tranquil (a tranquil sea), serene, harmony, and stillness. Read poems, phrases, and excerpts that suggest a peaceful mind. You can also join group talks where the discussion is centered on how to achieve a mind harmonious with peace, love, and happiness. If you prefer to be on your own, moments of silence can make you obtain peace of mind. The library is a suitable place to be in. Pick up a book that suggests peace of mind and you may be able to find other means to obtain your objective.

Another good way is to use visualization. You can try visualizing peaceful scenes in your mind. For instance, you can initially picture in your mind a rainforest being battered by stormy weather. Branches of trees are vigorously swinging in all directions. Everything seems to be chaotic, just like a troubled mind. But storms don’t last. They move on. When they leave, sunshine or good weather comes in.

Another very effective method is to practice quiet meditation on a daily basis. You should set aside 30 to 60 minutes each day for meditation. When you begin to practice meditation on a daily basis, you’ll begin to experience a flow of energy coming into your mind and body. You’ll have a tremendous sense of well-being, and a stream of ideas will flow through your mind. And, most importantly, you’ll get the answer to the most important situation facing you every single time you meditate.

Do these processes as often as necessary - every time you think you need to. By repeating this process, you are practicing good habits aimed at keeping your mind free of negative thoughts and full of positive vibrations to achieve peace of mind.

Ultimately, this habit will become part of your daily activities until you get used to it. Once you do, you will find everything you do to be positive based in an effortless manner.

Set peace of mind as your highest goal. Associate only with achievers and work in situations that make you happy and contribute to your sense of inner peace and well-being.

Success Is Never Final!



Hi Friends,

Hope you have a great day today because I’m having a great time writing for the world! Today is the day that I would just like to say “ Thank You” by sharing with the world some wisdom I happened to come across from a blog called “ Success Is Never Final”.
First of all, I must say that the title of the blog – “Success Is Never Final” is something that I could relate with in my life. People are so judgmental that when one fails to make it in life, they are considered a loser at that point. Most successful people in fact have failed lots in their lives before they succeeded in achieving what they set out to do. Success is definitely never final!

Who is this author who came out with this blog? Actually, he is a young gentleman by the name of Halim Gafoor. Above is a picture of Halim that I seek his permission to allow me to post on my blog and websites.

A young gentleman with great determination and perseverance who believes he can achieve a lot more in life not just for himself but for the world. Halim continues to learn from as many mentors as he could in life not just from the school but also from his immediate family members like his uncles. He learned a lot from his Uncle, Mohamad Ismail, who also happened to be the CEO of PropNex, Singapore largest leader in Real Estate Industry. Besides his uncles, the closest people he respected most are his father and mother who gave him all the emotional supports needed to drive his successes in life.
I shall not describe too much about him but let his pictures tell you what he is capable of. He is also one of youngest gentleman that I happened to know who is NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) certified. Why would a young gentleman want to be NLP certified? Maybe, you could answer that for me!



There was one particular post in his blog that I like titled “How to deal with failure”. I shall leave you with the excerpt of the post.

One of the most important things you need to know about success is how to manage failure. As paradoxical (If something is paradoxical, it involves two facts or qualities which seem to contradict each other) as it may sound, how you deal with failure is one of the best indicators of your chances of achieving success. Now let’s be frank – dealing with failure is not easy. It is hard to accept failure. It hurts your pride. It does not feel good to fail. Yet, in order to achieve success you must not only be comfortable with failure, you must actually embrace it.

Have you ever seen someone who is hanging on to a failure and simply will not let go of it? It is very sad scenery. People that have a hard time dealing with failure tend to go in total denial about their failures. They ignore all the signs that are telling them they are at a dead end and they tend to dig themselves into a deeper and deeper hole. They spin and rationalize everything. The have a million reasons, or as some would call it, excuses, as to why they are in the situation they are in. They will spend countless hours justifying it, renaming it, redefining, it. They will do everything but the one and only right thing to do when faced with failure – embrace it.

When faced with failure, the most important thing you need to do first is recognize it and admit that you failed. If you can get past this one simple, but incredibly difficult hurdle, you will then be in a great position to do the second most important thing you need to do when you fail – learn from your mistakes. If you are truly committed to success, absorb and live by these words:

Failure is nothing but nature’s way of telling you that the way you went about it was not the right way.

Do You Share Your Mistakes with Others?

If you are afraid of sharing your mistakes with others, that is a good indication that you are not comfortable with failure. Make it a habit to share your mistakes with others. Be comfortable with your mistakes and failures to the point where talking about them does not bother you anymore.

Do You Only Do Things You Know Will Succeed?

If you hear someone say “I never failed” – watch out. This is a strong indicator that this person has never really experienced success because they so narrowly define the boundaries of what they are willing to try that they never get past mediocrity.

Are You Very Conscious of Your Mistakes?

When you do something wrong, if you become overly conscious of your mistake you will limit your ability to achieve success. It is very important that you not spend too much time thinking about past mistakes. Learn from them and move on. Do not let past mistakes prevent you from achieving future success.

Do You Think Failure is Shameful?

If you do, you need to get past this way of thinking. There is absolutely nothing shameful about failure. Failure is simply the result of an experiment. Failure is a powerful lesson of what not to do in the future. Failure is the best way to get to success.

Do you get the true meaning of what failure is trying to tell you? I hope you do. I hope you embrace failure. I hope you fail hard. I hope you fail often. The quicker you embrace failure, the quicker you will achieve success!

ASIA’S VERY OWN ANTHONY ROBBINS?



Hi Friends,

Today, I would like share with all of you an interview by "The Executive" on my good friend, Alan Yip, Founder of Mind Edge!

The headline was " Asia's Very Own Anthony Robbins ". I read the headline and straight away I was putting myself into Alan's mind. I was actually trying to understand why achievers can achieve much more than most average people.

In this headline, Alan is actually using Anthony Robbins as a role model and mentor to model after to motivate himself to achieve a standard that he feels will be a great standard to exceed his performance.
